Hi!
My name is Kathleen Benish, but everyone calls me Katie. I am a recent graduate from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I received a B.S. in Creative Advertising and a B.B.A. in Marketing with concentrations in Digital Advertising and European Business.
In addition to my studies, I worked for the University Program Board at JMU. During my time with UPB, I served as the VP of Membership and the VP of Marketing. I oversaw all the membership efforts and I led a marketing team. (See more in my resume).
I love using the Adobe suite to make my designs for classes and my job. I love being creative and working with a team of creatives. It is my intention to work with a team of like-minded people everyday where we work together to make the advertising world a creative one.
Who is the grumpy cat in this photo? She is my 15ish year old cat, Mena. I adopted her from the SPCA recently and I don't know her actual age. Although she looks mean, she is the sweetest cat and the BEST cuddler.
In the summer of 2022, I studied abroad in Antwerp, Belgium for two and a half months. There I took business classes that taught me about management, finance, marketing, operations, and European business. I went to so many different places (France being my favorite) and had amazing experiences learning about new and exciting cultures.
James Madison University is where I discovered my true passion for design and advertising. I initially came in as a Marketing major in the College of Business. However, during my first year, I was introduced to the School of Media Arts & Design. It was then that I decided to pursue a double degree in Marketing and Creative Advertising.
One of my favorite places in the world is Disney World. My mom is a huge Mickey fan, thus during my childhood we went to Disney often. I fell in love with the magic of Disney and for years it has been my dream to work with Disney. I want everyone to experience the magic.
